Programme Name

SIDTM (Formerly SITM) has been offering an MBA (Digital and Telecom Management) with a fine blend of technology and management for the new age management professionals in the Digital era. The program aims at creating management professionals who understand the business requirements and can deliver commercially viable technology solutions to address these requirements. The course circular is aligned with the current industry trends.

Specialization

All our courses are offered as a dual specialization with finance as a specialization in addition to core specialization in Systems, Marketing or Analytics.

Systems and Finance Specialization (60 Intake):

The Systems and Finance specialization at SIDTM (Formerly SITM) offers a unique blend of business and technology to deal with the challenges of the widespread adoption of digitization and digital technologies. Systems and Finance specialization is for the new age technology managers who would be responsible for business processes, product development, and project management, etc. Other than the course curriculum, the students are offered various industry-relevant certifications and training on Cybersecurity, DevOps, Internal
Audit, AWS cloud, etc.

Marketing and Finance Specialization (60 Intake): The Marketing and Finance Specialization at SIDTM (Formerly SITM) scores the perfect balance at being a technology and marketing domains. The course offers subjects on marketing as well as technology aspects in relation to marketing. Subjects like Brand Management, Sales Force and Channel Management, marketing communication and many more prepare the students for handling both B2B and B2C marketing. The placements record and the alumni profile has proven that our students are succeeding in not just the telecom domain but also in other domains where Digital Technologies have been adopted. The technical knowledge has proven to be the differentiator and the USP in the resume of the students.

Analytics and Finance Specialization (30 Intake): With the increasing demand for data science and analytics, SIDTM (Formerly SITM) introduced Analytics specialization in 2017. SIDTM (Formerly SITM) has an IBM Analytics lab and it also offers courses in line with it. The Analytics specialization lays a strong focus on various tools being used by the industry. With added additional in-demand industry certifications, and research projects. The addition of Finance as a dual specialization has added a lot of value to the course. The course pedagogy revolves around live case studies, workshops, and a summer internship. Subjects like R, Python, Tableau, PowerBI, IBM Cognos, Data mining, Social Media Analytics, and Data analytics and big data form an integral part of the specialization.

Specialization Allocation Process: Symbiosis Institute of Digital and Telecom Management (SIDTM) shall be admitting 150 students (+ a few more) These students shall be admitted to MBA (Digital & Telecom Management). SIDTM offers three specializations (Marketing & Finance, Systems & Finance and Analytics & Finance) to its students as per 60:60:30 divisions (of 150) respectively. First semester of the incoming batch will be common to all. However, starting second semester these students will be imparted knowledge based on specializations chosen by them.

The students may have higher inclination to some specializations as in comparison to others. In order to create a transparent selection process and for acknowledging the merit, SIDTM has adopted the Specialization Allocation Process for selection of these students to various specializations being offered. The combined marks scored by the students in the first semester internal tests for three courses (1) Business Statistics (2) Network Concepts and Components and (3) Essentials of Marketing Management will be considered . The allocation of the specialisation will be done in a descending order on the basis of combined marks scored by the students.

Specialization Allocation Process (SAP) and Specialization Allocation Test (SAT) will be announced to the students well in advance so as to give them time to prepare.

  • Industrial Visits: Three-day immersion programs (e.g., BSNL facilities) with expert sessions and live demonstrations.
  • Summer Projects: Two-month internships through campus recruitment, followed by formal evaluation.
  • Research Projects: Fourth-semester dissertations and year-long syndicate research on techno-commercial topics.
  • Internships & Live Projects: Direct collaboration with companies to solve operational and strategic problems.
  • Self-Study & MOOC-Based Learning: Guided modules from platforms like NPTEL, Swayam, Infosys Springboard, and Cisco LMS, paired with applied assignments.

Eligibility and Reservation of Seats

  • Graduate from any recognized University / Institution of National Importance with minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes).
  • Programmes which require specific discipline/ subject specialization need to be checked for eligibility as given by the respective Institute.
  • A candidate who has completed qualifying degree from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • All foreign degrees/ qualifications need to be verified from AIU by the candidate before seeking admission to any programme of SIU.
  • Evaluation Division of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) issues equivalence certificate for foreign degrees/qualifications.

The definition for Children / Wards of Defence Personnel is:
The term Defence Personnel would mean only those serving / retired Defence personnel from Army, Navy, Air Force. Retired defence personnel are those who fall in the category of ex-servicemen as laid down in Ministry of Defence letter no 36035/5/85- Estt (SCT) dated 14 April 1987. It includes children of defence personnel who died while in service or after retirement.

Note:- If a candidate chooses to apply under “Children / Wards of Defence Personnel” category for any one of the programmes mentioned above, and subsequently if he/she chooses to apply for any / all of the remaining programmes mentioned above, he / she will be treated under the same category (i.e. Children / Wards of Defence Personnel)”

Person with Disability (PwD) Category at SIU

In compliance to the Government directives on Disability Guidelines issued by the Office of the Chief Commissioner for persons with disabilities vide Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi notification no. 16-18/97 on 1st June 2001, The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 dated 27th December 2016 and University Grants Commission Notification No. F.6-1/2006 (CPP-II/SCT) dated 30/09/2009, the University has made provision of reserving 3% seats for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Category candidates in all its Constituents.

Process to be followed for Persons with Disabilities (PwD):

  • The candidate applying for the entrance tests /admission in the Persons with Disabilities (PwD), selects the type of disability available in the PwD options on the portal.
  • A Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidate is required to upload his/her copy of Disability Certificate issued by Competent Government Medical Authority the AND Unique Disability ID (UD ID) Card at the time of registration for entrance/admission of SIU to ascertain percentage and the type of the disability.
  • The Medical Superintendent, SUHRC through Medical Board shall ascertain the genuineness of the said documents. Once the documents are found authentic and correct by the Medical Board, SUHRC, his/her eligibility will be certified under the PwD category.

Note- If a candidate selects Persons with Disabilities (PwD) in the Registration form and s/he requires scribe/writer facility please note SIU will not be providing scribe/writer. The candidate has to make her/his own arrangement for scribe/writer. The scribe/writer should not have completed studies beyond the Class XII. Request for approval for scribe/writer should be sent to info@snaptest.org. The approval email and supporting documents should be carried at the time of appearing for the SNAP Test.

As per SIU norms, a Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Candidate is provided with 20 minutes of compensatory time for every 60 minutes of test.

Discretionary Quota Seats. The fees for Discretionary Quota Seats will be double the academic fees of the open category as approved by the fee structure Committee, to be paid to the institute by way of online transfer/demand draft. No donation or capitation fee is charged for admission to any program at any institute of SIU.

Once Admission is taken in Discretionary Quota, the fees applicable to Discretionary Quota will have to be paid by the student for the entire duration of the program.

# Only Foreign National Students taking admission in the year 2025 for the batch 2025–2027, will be eligible for the Symbiosis Golden Jubilee Scholarships. Designed to celebrate 50 glorious years of Symbiosis being established to offer quality education to foreign national students, these include:

(1) 100 Symbiosis Golden Jubilee full Academic Scholarships with need-based reduced hostel fees for foreign national students from developing African–Asian countries.

(2) 100 Golden Jubilee Free-ships for academically and financially deserving foreign national students from conflict-ridden / war-affected regions by giving them an opportunity to study at SIU by covering not only the cost of all academic fees but also the hostel and mess / food fees (lodging and boarding).

(3) Concessional Hostel fees are applicable to Foreign National students @ $650 per annum.

(4) Concessional Mess fees are applicable to Foreign National students @ $560 per annum.

How to Apply

Step 1 : SNAP Test

  • Each student aspires for admission to SIDTM (Formerly SITM), Pune must appear for Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test, which is a common Computer-Based Test for the admission to all Symbiosis postgraduate institutes.
  • For SNAP Test information log on to http://www.snaptest.org and register. Simultaneously, register online to SIDTM (Formerly SITM), Pune by paying additional ₹1000
  • Those candidates who have paid their SNAP / Institute programme registration fees prior to this change will NOT be required to pay an additional amount.
  • Preserve the Admit Card of SNAP Test for further selection process at SIDTM (Formerly SITM), Pune. Appearing for SNAP Test does not automatically qualify an applicant for the next step in the selection process at SIDTM (Formerly SITM), Pune.

International Students

THE SYMBIOSIS CENTRE FOR INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION (SCIE)

The Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE) is a department of the University, providing leadership & support for the University’s efforts to internationalise the campus and the curricula. The admissions are centralised for all the constituent institutes of Symbiosis International University (SIU) and routed through SCIE. The online admission facility has made it possible for all candidates to apply from different parts of the world.

To check if you fall under International Candidates’ Category, please refer to the categories listed below:

1. FOREIGN NATIONAL (FN)
A candidate is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN), if he/she holds a foreign passport.

2. PERSON OF INDIAN ORIGIN (PIO)
A candidate is eligible to apply as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) if he/she has a PIO card, and is a citizen of a country other than India.

3.OVERSEAS CITIZEN OF INDIA (OCI)
A candidate is eligible to apply as an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) if he/she has an OCI card, and is a citizen of a country other than India.

4. NON RESIDENT INDIAN (NRI)
A candidate is eligible to apply as a Non Resident Indian (NRI) if he/she has appeared either for the 10+2 (equivalent to the Indian 10+2) examination or graduation outside India. It is mandatory for one of the two qualifying examinations to be given outside India.
It is mandatory for the Postgraduate candidates who fall in the NRI Category and have appeared for their graduation in India to appear for the SNAP Test.

B) A candidate applying under any of the reserved category (Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes/ Person with Disability (PwD)/ Kashmiri Migrants) are mandatorily required to submit relevant documents issued by competent authority. Any participation at any stage of the admission process by such a candidate is purely provisional and always subject to verification and authentication of such relevant documents.

In case a candidate falls under more than one of the above categories (eg. Scheduled Caste as well as Person with Disability (PwD) or any other combination), he would need to select any one Category (i.e. Either Scheduled Caste OR Person with Disability (PwD) in the case of example mentioned above) at the time of filling up the SNAP registration form. The category selected by the candidate at the time of filling the registration form will be considered to be his category for the entire admission process and his benefits and entitlements shall be according to such selected category. He will not be able to claim benefits under the other category/s at any stage of admission on any account whatsoever. Please also note that if any information provided by the candidate in respect of his category is found to be incorrect, the University shall have the right to cancel the candidature of such candidate at any stage of the admission process.

  • The Medical Superintendent, SUHRC through Medical Board shall ascertain the genuineness of the said documents. Once the documents are found authentic and correct by the Medical Board, SUHRC, his/her eligibility will be certified under the PwD category.

Note- If a candidate selects Persons with Disabilities (PwD) in the Registration form and s/he requires scribe/writer facility please note SIU will not be providing scribe/writer. The candidate has to make her/his own arrangement for scribe/writer. The scribe/writer should not have completed studies beyond the Class XII. Request for approval for scribe/writer should be sent to info@snaptest.org The approval email and supporting documents should be carried at the time of appearing for the SNAP Test.

As per SIU norms, a Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Candidate is provided with 20 minutes of compensatory time for every 60 minutes of test.

Selection Process

Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP Test) is the gateway for Post Graduate Programmes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University).

A candidate aspiring to join an Symbiosis MBA programme offered by any Institute of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) [SIU] has to appear for the common, mandatory Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP 2025) Computer Based Test (CBT) which will be conducted at Test Centres.

Candidates should register and pay for SNAP Test & separate institute program-wise registration fees to SIDTM. For details and registration, please visit https://www.snaptest.org

After the SNAP test result is declared, candidates who have applied, registered, and paid for SIDTM (Formerly SITM) will be shortlisted for GE – PI (Group Exercise- Personal Interview).

Note: It is mandatory for a student to apply for SNAP and Register for SIDTM to be shortlisted for SIDTM.

In the SNAP Test, candidates are judged on General English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Analytical & Logical Reasoning. If shortlisted, he/she should attend the GE-PI process which is conducted by the Institute

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR CONFIRMATION OF PROVISIONAL ADMISSION AND ELIGIBILITY OF NATIONAL STUDENTS ENROLLED TO UNDERGRADUATE / POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES AT SYMBIOSIS INTERNATIONAL (DEEMED UNIVERSITY)

(A) PRIMARY DOCUMENTS:

1. Statement of Marks of Last Qualifying Examination

Self-attested photocopies of statement of marks of all semester(s)/year(s) of last qualifying examination issued by qualifying Boards/recognized University/ Institution of National Importance.

2. Provisional/ Passing/ Degree Certificate

Self-attested photocopy of provisional/ passing/ degree certificate of last qualifying examination awarded by the Board/Recognized University/ Institution of National Importance.

3.Transfer Certificate (If applicable)

Original transfer certificate issued by the School/College/ Institute last attended.

4.Migration Certificate (If applicable)

Original Migration certificate issued by the last University attended. Candidates who have completed/ appeared for last qualifying examination from any Constituent Institution/ Department of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) shall submit Transfer Certificate in Original. They are not required to submit Migration Certificate

5.Caste Certificate (If applicable)

Self-attested caste certificate issued by Tehsildar/ Deputy Collector/ Sub Divisional Magistrate or by the Competent Authority.

6.Certificate of Disability issued by Competent Govt. Medical Authority (If applicable)

The candidate applying for admission to any constituent Institute/ Department of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) under the Person with Disability (PwD) category should produce a certificate fulfilling the requirement of admission under Person with Disability (PwD) category, issued by the competent medical authority at the time of reporting. The candidate will have to get the disability authenticated from Symbiosis University Hospital & Research Centre (SUHRC). The provisional admission may be considered as regularized only after due authentication by Symbiosis University Hospital & Research Centre (SUHRC).

7.Jammu & Kashmir Migrant Certificate (If applicable) –

A candidate seeking admission under the category of Jammu & Kashmir Migrant in type J1, J2, J3 shall submit the migrant certificate in original issued by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir

8.Defence personnel and their dependents (Children / Ward / Spouse) of Defence personnel (as per merit) (If applicable)

A candidate seeking admission under Defence Category shall submit the authenticated photocopy of Identity Card as a proof of dependent of Defence Personnel along-with Appendix A/B/C.

9.Change of Name Certificate (Govt. Gazette) (If applicable)

A candidate shall submit the self-attested photocopy of change of name certificate, if his/her name has been changed due to any reason and is not the same as mentioned in the certificates of qualifying examination. A self-attested photocopy of Government Gazette in proof of change of name should be submitted.

10.Equivalence Certificate (If applicable) (If applicable)

Equivalence Certificate in case, candidate has completed qualifying qualification from Foreign University/ Board issued by Association of Indian Universities/ Statutory Councils (wherever applicable).

11.Experience certificate (If applicable)

Self-attested experience certificate.

12.Certificate of Registration (If applicable)

Self-attested Certificate of Registration issued by respective council (e.g. Medical Council/ Dental Council/ Nursing Council etc.)

13.Domicile Certificate (If applicable)

Self-attested Domicile certificate issued byCompetent Authority.

  • Do I have to send printed application form to SIDTM (Formerly SITM)?
    No, you are required to register online only.
  • I have completed my graduation through a correspondence course. Am I eligible for the course?
    No, Candidates pursuing degree examination by part time / correspondence course are not eligible for the course.
  • I have done my graduation in B.Sc. / Commerce / BBA / Biotech. Am I eligible for the course?
    Yes, The minimum requirement for admission is a Graduate Degree in any discipline from a statutory University with a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination (45% for SC / ST). Final year students are also eligible to apply but their admission would be on provisional basis.
  • Is it compulsory to choose the specialization at the time of application?
    No, you are required to choose only ONE specialization. You can choose the specialisation after joining SIDTM (Formerly SITM). The student can choose specialisation in semester I.
  • Is the course on Telecom Management entirely technical one? Will I be able to cope up with it?
    The programme encompasses all the aspects of management education. The programme structure covers Telecom, Finance, IT and Marketing and analytics. Approximately 50% to 60% of the program consists of management subjects.
  • Is it a residential course?
    Yes, the 2 year MBA Programme is a fully residential course and it is compulsory for the students to stay in the hostel.
  • How can I reach SIDTM (Formerly SITM) campus?
    Presently there are no public transport facilities from the city to the Lavale campus; however, the campus is easily accessible by private vehicles. Campus is approx. 21 kms from Pune railway station and 24 kms from Pune Airport. You can also refer to the route chart given in the Contact Us link.
