About SIDTM
Symbiosis Institute of Digital and Telecom Management (Formerly SITM), a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) is a business school based in Pune, Maharashtra, India, established in the year 1996. It is the pioneer in the field of Telecom Management in the entire SAARC region, and endeavours to develop World-Class Telecom Business Leaders who can address the needs of a constantly changing business scenario in a technical field, such as telecom, with ease. The institute was established in 1996 following National Telecom Policy and liberalization in this sector.
With its vision to promote international understanding through quality education, SIDTM (Formerly SITM) offers a two-year full-time program with three specializations namely Systems and Finance, Marketing and Finance and, Analytics and Finance

To guide and usher the telecom industry into the next wave of growth, the Government of India 2018 announced the National Digital Communications Policy (NDCP) which was earlier known as National Telecom Policy. According to the NDCP, Digital India is already unfolding. India’s digital profile and footprint are one of the fastest-growing in the world. With over a billion mobile phones and digital identities and half a billion internet users, India’s mobile data consumption is already the highest in the world. At the current pace of digitization and digitalization, it is estimated that India’s digital economy will grow with rapid speed. In view of the changes in this ecosystem and the changes in policy, the institute name is changed from Symbiosis Institute of Telecom Management to Symbiosis Institute of Digital and Telecom Management and the program now offered is MBA in Digital and Telecom Management.
At SIDTM, we focus on Digital and Telecom management. The curriculum consists of core management subjects and is applied to digital technology management through case studies. “Technology Management” courses include business or managerial aspects of digital, telecom, and information communication technologies and also emerging areas such as Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), Financial Technologies, Smart devices, Cloud Infrastructure, Data center, Cybersecurity, Mobile applications, Digital Marketing, and Blockchain, etc.
The focus area of the institute is to develop Telecom, ICT and digital technology Business Leaders who will lead and manage the ever-changing technology and business environment. SIDTM has over 2900+ alumni who are making their mark in the industry as Business and Technical Consultants, Network Managers, Project Leaders, Business Development Managers to name a few. Many of our senior alumni are holding senior management positions such as CEO, Director, Vice President, Head of business units and functional areas, Country Managers, and Entrepreneurs. Apart from the telecom sector, alumni are contributing to the Digital Technologies domain cutting across industries and sectors such as Media and entertainment, Banking, Consulting, Fintech, IT and ITES, etc. A sizeable number of alumni are working for large MNCs and are based in various regions across the globe.

History
Where Vision Met Opportunity:
The Birth of SIDTM
The idea of Symbiosis Institute of Digital & Telecom Management came up during the visit to Dr. Mujumdar’s office by the General Manager of Pune Telecom, Mr. Vijay Paranjpe. During the course of the conversation, he mentioned that the field of Telecommunications was soon going to open up & India was certain to see the arrival of international players like AT & T, Ericsson & others. He pointed out that the new economy would be thirsty for competent managers with a technical background & therefore suggested that Symbiosis consider establishing special courses for telecom personnel.
On the basis of past experience, Dr. Mujumdar decided to start a 2 year Post Graduate Programme in Telecom Management. Initially it seemed logical to conduct this new programme under the aegis of Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies & Research (SICSR).
However, Dr. Mujumdar was convinced about the potential of Tele Communication & felt it was wiser to organize the courses under a new institution. This is how Symbiosis Institute of Digital & Telecom Management (SIDTM) came into existence. At the time it was established, SIDTM was the first of its kind in India & first such experiment in Asia.

Students at SIDTM (Formerly SITM) are part of a techno- management business school that has remarkably evolved into a center for learning and excellence in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) a well as digital technology management domain. An SIDTM (Formerly SITM) student experiences a potent mix of academics, domain expertise and professional skills. He is endowed with experiences beyond knowledge. Classroom
Classrooms are seats of learning and knowledge enhancement for students and hence have been equipped with ICT-enabled teaching and learning aids are connected with Wi-Fi. These classrooms enable faculty members to explain and discuss concepts through the use of interactive presentations and audio-visual resources.
C-Hall
Conference Hall at SIDTM has a seating capacity of about 180 students and is well equipped with ICT- enabled teaching and learning aids for interactive sessions. Faculty members and students use the hall for guest lectures by subject matter experts, workshops, value-added programs and events organized by students.
Conference Hall
The ICT-enabled conference room at SIDTM is well equipped with a video conferencing facility and arrangements for audio-visual interaction. The U-shaped boardroom seating arrangement enables participants to both face each other and the speaker. Faculty members and students use the conference room for online as well as offline meetings, training sessions and campus interviews.
Computer Lab
The institute offers a specialized CISCO Lab where students can perform various experiments and there on expand their practical knowledge skillsets. They get a chance to have a hands-on experience on these industries relevant and updated CISCO devices and go through series of tests and real time assignments as per CISCO norms and standards. Not just this, to keep abreast with the standards SIDTM (Formerly SITM) has also partnered with CNAP program that in return adds more value to the course.
Amphitheatre
Large, circular, or oval open-air venues with raised seating – acts as a gateway to a different world, where time seems slow. A place to relax after the hectic day where you get to see the city lights and feel thecold wind rub against your cheeks.
Central Library
The SIDTM (Formerly SITM) Pune students have access to the Symbiosis International Central Library (Deemed University), which has a magnificent repository and credits for books, reports, newspapers, periodicals, CDs, and video cassettes.
The Library also has an impressive online subscription to databases such as EBSCO, Emerald, Scopus, JSTOR, Frost and Sullivan, EMIS, etc.
Auditorium
The centralize facilities include a 600-seater auditorium and a Convention Centre both equipped with the latest audio visual technology. The Auditorium and Convention Centre have hosted many an eminent personalities from the corporate and academic world alike for leadership talks and campus engagement programmes. They provide an unhindered and stimulating environment for young minds to be moulded through guest lectures and presentations and a prefect stage for students to showcase their talent via musical, cultural as well as academic events.
Helipad
Symbiosis Knowledge Campus is well connected by roads as well as it’s state of the art ” Helipad ” base which is one of its kind on looking the beauty of the Pune City amongst the whole country which differentiate its campus with a new infrastructure framework.
